Attached below is a wage summary to help you be prepared come 1 July 2024.  If your business is covered by the Restaurant Industry Award 2020, this is for you.

On Monday, 3 June 2024, the Fair Work Commission (FWC) delivered a significant increase to Australia’s minimum wages for award-free and award-covered employees.  Starting from the first full pay period on or after July 1, 2024, the minimum pay rates will increase by 3.75%.

The summary below has been prepared to provide you with an indication of what the hourly rates will increase to. It applies to employers operating under the Restaurant Industry Award 2020 for businesses such as restaurants, reception
centers, nightclubs, cafes, and roadhouses. It also includes any tearoom, café, and catering services provided by a restaurant business.
