IN THE PRESS:

Phillip Di Bella recently sat down with Rebecca Levingston on ABC Radio’s ‘Evenings’ and shared his thoughts on the current challenges in the coffee industry, and how the increasing costs are impacting both businesses and customers alike, creating a tough environment for our industry.

With over 900 cafes in the Coffee Commune’s membership, Phillip emphasized that this large network provides a good gauge of the market, which is currently experiencing more supply of cafes than there is demand.  This oversaturation is leading to intense competition, and with customers spending less, it’s becoming even more challenging for cafes to thrive.

Looking ahead, Phillip urged cafe owners to focus on their business strategies, grow their customer base, and shift into strategy mode. He predicted that about 10% of cafes might not make it through the next year due to the difficult market conditions.

His key advice: in these tough times, it’s crucial to surround yourself with people who can offer support and guidance.
