About Trevor Evans

Trevor Evans is your LNP candidate for Brisbane. He is an economist and was the CEO of the National Retail Association where he was – and continues to be – a strong advocate for small businesses, shopkeepers, and retailers. Trevor stems from five generations of retailers, shopkeepers and restaurateurs; small business is in his DNA. Like many of us in the room this evening Trevor is a true self-starter. Being the first in his family to attend university, earning a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Queensland, and it was here that Trevor formed his political views and long association with the Liberal National Party.

Trevor was elected as the federal Member for Brisbane in 2016, and subsequently re-elected in 2019. During his tenure, he served on various parliamentary committees, including Economics; Employment, Education and Training; and Environment and Energy. He served as Assistant Minister for Waste Reduction and Environmental Management, helping craft Australia’s first ever federal recycling laws. As Queensland’s first openly gay federal MP, Evans has been a strong advocate for equality and inclusivity.

Trevor has worked closely with the Brisbane community to secure new infrastructure, including fighting for the SEQ City Deal, the Brisbane Metro, the Kingsford Smith Drive upgrade, the Kangaroo Point Bridge and the Brekky Creek Bridge.
