Don Meij, the Group CEO and Managing Director of Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd (DPE), has led the company to become Australia's largest and first publicly listed pizza chain. With over 3,000 outlets across ten markets, including Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Japan, Germany, Luxembourg, Denmark, and Taiwan, DPE is the largest Domino's business outside the United States. Under Don's guidance, the company achieves remarkable success, selling seven pizzas per second and recording a net profit of over $150 million in the fiscal year 2020-21.
Don's remarkable journey from being a pizza delivery driver to a global pizza mogul showcases his unwavering focus, determination, and commitment to improving the customer experience. Starting his career in the pizza business in 1987, Don quickly advanced through the ranks and eventually became the Group CEO in 2002. Since then, he has spearheaded DPE's expansion into various international markets, introducing groundbreaking innovations such as GPS Driver Tracker, autonomous delivery vehicles, and DOM Pizza Checker powered by artificial intelligence. Throughout his career, Don has received numerous accolades, including Pizza International Manager of the Year in 1996 and the Ernst & Young Australian Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2004.
